Ulvik 5730
Olav H. Hauge (1908–1994) is one of Norway's most prominent poets, and he lived his entire life in Ulvik. At Hauge Poetry Museum, you may explore Hauge's life story and poetic works, and experience poetry in many forms and across language barriers. The museum offers experiences for both children and adults. Located beautifully by the fjord, with views of the mountains from the old municipal building in Ulvik. From his home at Rossvoll, the poet and fruit farmer Hauge gained broad views and extensive knowledge by reading world literature. He wrote poems about everyday life and nature, and pondered many thoughts about life and literature in his diaries. In the exhibitions, you may explore various aspects of Hauge's poetry and his unique life. You may see his extensive book collection and get to know the authors who inspired him. Guided tours at 12.30 during the summer season. Groups may book guided tours of the exhibition, poetic writing courses, and film screenings. Welcome!
