The Fjord Ranger Programme is a developed communication programme designed specifically for the Geirangerfjorden UNESCO World Heritage area. A Fjord Ranger can be a storyteller, a nature interpreter, a researcher and a warm host/ambassador. They are actively engaging with the visitors, fostering connections with the landscape and offering insights to understand its significance. Their stories encompass a rich variety of topics including geology, biodiversity, cultural heritage, natural history , local folklore and personal experiences. Fjord Rangers are dedicated to ensuring visitors having great experiences, while discovering the authentic and unique World Heritage Area. Currently, visitors can meet our Fjord Rangers at: -Winter cruises Ålesund-Geiranger -School educational programs -Fjord Ranger Waterfall Hike -Fjord Ranger Basecamp program - As hosts in Geiranger by providing information and safe guidelines about tours and things to do at the Heritage Site.
