Herberg de Vliegende Vos is the birthplace of the famous Delft painter Johannes Vermeer. When he was born in the building in 1632, his parents had an inn there. That inn has now been restored to its former glory with 3 exclusive hotel rooms and from 1 September 2018 also a 17th century café-restaurant with a menu from the 17th century. Herberg de Vliegende Vos is located in the middle of the old historic center of Delft on one of the most beautiful canals within walking distance of the entertainment center, tourist attractions and sights.
