THE FORMER AIRPORT BUILDING OF EINDHOVEN This listed building from 1935 is one of the last remaining airport buildings in the Netherlands from before 1940. In the good old days, an air show was regularly organized by the "Noord-Brabantse Aeroclub", co-founded by Frits Philips. The "wealthy citizens" of Eindhoven came together here for the flying spectacle and a drink. Various KLM scheduled flights also departed from the former runway at the front of the building. The building therefore bore the name ‘Eindhoven Airport’ on the façade. On the rear facade was "Welschap", referring to a former hamlet of Eindhoven. Relive old times in the right wing of the airport building, that served as a "KLM restaurant" before the Second World War. We invite you - just like the former "wealthy citizens" of Eindhoven - to enjoy a nice drink, a delicious lunch or a pleasant dinner at "Echt Welschap".
