Our traditional Dutch Cafe Hans & Grietje is since 1876 a popular and beloved cafe and restaurant right in the middle of vibrant area of The Spiegel Quarter in Amsterdam. For many a warm home away from home. We have a large and lovely terrace with a beautiful view of the Rijksmuseum and the canals, where you can enjoy the sun until the late hours in the evening. Hans & Grietje is a wonderful place where you can lunch, dine and have a drink in a cosy environment. We have an extensive lunch and dinner menu which allows us to cater to everyone's tastes. Think of typical Dutch pancakes, steaks,fresh fish, salads, and a broad array of sandwiches. Try our Piri Piri gamba shrimps! From March until November you can enjoy your drinks and food on our sunny terrace. During winter you can warm up inside by our cosy fireplace, or in our restaurant on the first floor, with a great view of the canals and enjoy our traditional pea soup, hot chocolate or wide range of freshly brewed coffee's.
