Experience peace, space and romance in the Reest ValleyIn our original thatched Saxon farmhouse "De Kruidenhoeve", located in protected nature area the idyllic Reest Valley in Balkbrug (municipality Hardenberg), there are three comfortable Bed and Breakfast rooms, with shared bathroom and separate toilet on the first floor.We serve a healthy vegetarian breakfast in the morning.B & B De Kruidenhoeve is situated in the province of Overijssel, against the border with the province of Drenthe. The common lounge is on the ground floor in the former barn of the farmhouse. There you can prepare coffee or tea as needed. For a small fee you can also obtain juice, beer, wine or a snack by means of self-service. In this space are a TV and a DVD player; you will find tourist information and there are games. There is a wireless internet connection. In this lounge area a rich and healthy breakfast is served in the morning.Around our farm are more than 4000 m2 nature friendly ornamental- and herbal gardens can be visited by our guests. More than 30 years no fertilizers and pesticides are used. On various seats you can quietly enjoy the inspiring environment. There is a pasture with donkey Midas and lama Thomas and there are chickens, Guinea fowl and some hives with bees. In the summer months you can also encounter storks.Near B & B De Kruidenhoeve are several surprising hiking and bicycle routes. The Kruidenhoeve offers hikers and cyclists, but also others, every season a pleasant place for bed and breakfast. Starting from De Kruidenhoeve there are several walking trails.The farmhouse is located in the outskirts, about four kilometers from the village centre of Balkbrug with supermarket, drugstore, flower shop, some eating places and a fantastic beautiful open-air swimming pool "Heuveltjesbosbad". To the other side you reach after four km the centre of Dedemsvaart. This is a somewhat bigger place with a wide choice of shops and restaurants, a museum, a theatre facility in an old gas factory and an indoor swimming pool.
