Bar Botanique

Bar Botanique, café Tropique is a green oasis in the heart of the colourful Eerste van Swindenstraat in the Indische Buurt in Amsterdam Oost. This lively neighbourhood is getting more and more popular by locals and tourist alike. Bar Botanique serves a day full of pleasure. A chat between neighbors, catching over coffee; a well deserved lunch; some good bites and drinks or a diner with a variety of choices. Bar Botanique has it all. Bar Botanique's building has a long history in the Dapperbuurt, the neighbourhood where it stands. It used to be a gym for the local primary school. Later, it became the renowned Ponteneur, a legendary bar and restaurant that served many of the locals in this part of town. For twenty-five years this was the neighbourhoods living room, a place where everybody would fit in. So, when we started Bar Botanique in 2017, we had big shoes to fill. We sure hope we take good part in the history of the building and of the borough it's located in. A bientôt!
