Rock Settlement and M Rural Life of Zungri
Among the main historical and cultural testimonies of the Poro promontory, a very rare architectural jewel stands out, located on a ridge in the valley of the Malopara stream, facing south-east with an altitude between 515 and 430 m above sea level. It is the Rupestrian settlement of the "Sbariati" in Zungri, a real village entirely excavated in the sandstone rock, whose origin, in reality, remains unknown, although it is assumed to exist as early as the Middle Ages and not excluding the part older still awaits to come to light. Made with great technical and functional mastery and an ingenious use of natural resources, the site shows visitors many caves, designed for the use of residential and production activities, sources, efficient management of water resources and a complex internal road network - consisting of stairs and paths - and external, which connects the settlement to the plain above. At the entrance is the Museo della Civilta Contadina
