Over the autumn and winter months between September and March, Highland Astronomy Tours hosts evening stargazing trips for small or large groups, departing from the Highland capital Inverness. The aim of these tours is to let you experience the majesty of the night sky under excellent dark sky conditions, well away from significant urban light pollution. We pick you up from your accommodation and transport you to a select widerness location free from intrusive light pollution and with spectacular dark skies. On arrival at the dark sky location, your astronomer and host Stephen Mackintosh will professionaly guide you on an hour long tour of the night sky. Your tour will begin with some basics on navigating the heavens, using pointer stars and constellations, before moving on to view a spectacular array of objects; from glittering star clusters, bright nebulae, galaxies and (depending on their positions) planets. Please see our website for full details.
