The Tontine Hotel

The Tontine Hotel is a beautiful period building built by the same proprietors, who also built the world famous Iron bridge in 1784. The small family run hotel offers seven bedrooms, all of which are currently being refurbished, with most having stunning views of this landmark World Heritage Site. The long-term business plan of the family is to make The Tontine, "the Jewel in the Crown" and to bring back the original glamour of times gone by. Including eight bedrooms, the bar and new restaurant, the hotel also boasts a function room, ideal for hosting seasonal Christmas & New Year festivities to craft fairs for small businesses. The room is also a perfect setting for wedding receptions, wedding fairs and dinner dances. All of the seven bedrooms are open for booking, while refurbishment works having already begun on the bedrooms, the eighth room is still closed for completion. "We hope our guests will love the work we are doing and whilst those rooms are awaiting the requisite TLC, we are reflecting this in their costs to stay. In the meantime, they are clean, warm and inviting!" The hotel has just opened their brand new restaurant 'The Architect, providing a fine dining experience with a 'laid back' feel. This delicious food is not only complimented by a great wine selection, guests dining in our restaurant, are also given stunning views of the bridge. In addition, they were really pleased to announce the restaurant team is led by their Consultant Chef, Michelle Drayton! We were truly amazed we were able to secure Michelle and her exceptional skills, providing fabulous dining for our guests. You will be amazed too!
