The Plough

A charming traditional country pub in Bursledon, Southampton. Situated on the edge of Southampton and only a few minutes’ drive from the M27, the Plough is the epitome of a traditional English country pub. At night the seven stars of the Plough constellation light up in the wall adjacent to the entrance and the comfy bar area was designed with reference to the description of Badger’s Kitchen in chapter four of Wind in the Willows. With a beautiful garden and children’s play area, the pub is ideal for those long hot summers and when the nights start to draw in our roaring log fire and cosy interior really come into their own. Indeed, if you stand at the far end of the bar waiting for a drink your body forms the upper part of a comedy pair of legs!
