The Outwoods, an ancient woodland spanning 110 acres to the south of Loughborough, is one of the oldest surviving woodland sites in Charnwood, offering a variety of walking routes including an easy access path. Managed by the Outwoods Management Committee, it features a children's natural play area, a café, and is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its rich wildlife and geology.
The woodland is accessible to visitors registered as disabled, with two specially designed Tramper mobility scooters available for free use. Additionally, the Outwoods is committed to environmental restoration through a long-term plan aimed at returning the area to its natural historic state.
