Shepreth Wildlife Park first started as a private sanctuary in 1979. WillersMill Wild Animal Sanctuary, as it was known, was a refuge for creatures great and small, including rescued foxes, hedgehogs and badgers, alongside many different species of unlicensed exotics. After care and rehabilitation many were released back into the wild, but where this was not possible, they lived out their life at the sanctuary. Today, Shepreth Wildlife Park still hosts a busy ‘Hedgehog Hospital’ but also participates in national and international breeding programmes for endangered species. It remains as committed as ever to its animals and conservation, and to educating the next generation of conservationists. There are so many different animals to meet you won't know where to start! Marvel at the sheer ‘roar' power of the tigers in the Big Cat House or spy upon the mischievous primates on Monkey Island. Getting up, close and personal with the residents of the park is what it's all about. Since opening its doors to the public in 1984, Shepreth Wildlife Park, set in natural grounds, has become one of East Anglia’s major attractions and is home to tigers, otters, monkeys, reptiles and even creepy crawlies!. There’s so much to do from daring to enter the Nocturnal House, to playing ‘pirates’ or even stroking a cockroach! The park also provides lots of unique experiences to book, from hand-feeding the ring-tailed lemurs to playing with meerkats in Meerkat Manor. It truly is a fun day out for all the family!
