Rose & Crown

This beautiful pub, which brims with character, sits in the heart of the small village of Upper Farringdon, near Alton, minutes off the A31, within the South Downs National Park in Hampshire. The Rose & Crown is renowned for its gastro dining, including an exceptional gluten-free menu, friendly service, freshly prepared, seasonal produce, and a large garden to enjoy alfresco dining. It is believed that the pub was originally built as an alehouse in 1810 by Edward Knight, the brother of the celebrated novelist Jane Austen, whose family house is now open for visitors as a museum, just 2 miles away in the nearby village of Chawton.
