Lower Lode Inn

A Traditional Public House dating back to the 15th Century, The Lower Lode Inn is set in a stunning location on the banks of the River Severn, a stones throw from the historic town of Tewkesbury, which is also accessible by our historic foot ferry. The Inn offers a riverside beer garden with extensive garden seating, also a games room with pool table and jukebox. Serving fine locally sourced home cooked fayre and Camra accredited real ales, this family run traditional pub has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfasts and a Sunday carvery are available by pre-booking at the bar. ACCOMMODATION We offer a range of accommodation, including five en-suite guest rooms, in which we can accommodate families, couples or single occupancy. Pets are very welcome. The rooms offer all essentials required for a comfortable and relaxed stay. CAMPING AND CARAVAN SITE Our lawned riverside camping and caravan site is an ideal place for a short break, with electric hookups, elsan disposal, drinking water and shower unit/24hr toilets within the main pub building. There are also outdoor basic mobile shower and toilet units which are opened within the campsite during busy periods. BOAT MOORINGS Moorings are available along the Inn's river frontage, with narrow boat space (limited availability), smaller and public mooring spaces available. Boats up to 30ft accepted. FREE ACTIVITIES Free activities for guests can be enjoyed on site including fishing, subject to licensing (permits available from the pub) and dingy/canoe launch from the slipway. OTHER The Inn has a a purpose built function room and 2am music license (midnight for live music, 2am for recorded music). It is a popular summer venue for special events such as weddings, birthday parties and vehicle rallies, mostly held at weekends, while Monday to Friday the site is usually very quiet. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Set between the Malvern and Cotswold Hills, we offer a great base for exploring some of the UK's most charming villages and the stunning river-valley countryside of the Severn Vale. We are within easy reach of Upton upon Severn and the provincial towns of Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester and Worcester and for those in the area on business, there is easy motorway access to M50/M5.
