Howay and head for the hills! Swept up in the wilds of the North Pennines, a once-upon-a-time abbot’s guesthouse sits proudly in the honey-stoned village of Blanchland. Wallow in the warmth of our bedrooms, lovingly soothed with Pennine hues and all the creature comforts. Relish in the spoils of The Bishop's Dining Room and the notorious Hilyard, where food that harks of heritage and skill is just made for feasting and passing around. In the kitchen, we chase the seasons and in our vaulted bar, we celebrate them... We love a bit of banter, some bar bait and a good craic! As the old girl creeks, we listen affectionately to eight hundred magnificent years of tales... of monks and bishops, Lords and merry-makers. A sanctuary once for the pious is now all yours for the taking. With moors that shout out adventure right on the doorstep... get out, plot north, walk, cycle or explore... then head home to kick off your boots, hang your hat and stay a while at our 4 star country house hotel.
