Welcome to Leicester Cathedral - a beating heart for City and County and the final resting place of King Richard III. Our church, built on the likely site of a Roman temple and dedicated to St Martin of Tours, has been embedded in the public, economic, cultural and religious life of this community for over 900 years. We have re-opened the building after being closed for 22 months for our Leicester Cathedral Revealed project - renewing our Cathedral so we can be our best as a place of worship, heritage, pilgrimage, hospitality, learning, sanctuary, and celebration.
