Hessle, England HU13 0EF
Situated on the North Bank of the Humber Estuary close to the Humber Bridge, Hessle mill is a unique example of an early 19th century whiting windmill. This industrial mill was used to crush chalk to produce whiting inside the whiting works which once attached to the surviving tower. The mill is part of the Humber Bridge Country Park's Chalk Walk heritage trail. The trail follows a path through the Country Park, a quarry that once supplied the mill with chalk, and reveals the natural, industrial and social heritage of the site.
