Glendower Bed and Breakfast

We are lucky to have one of the best locations in Torquay, a beautiful Edwardian villa in a tree-lined road, ten minutes walk up from Torquay train station. The International Conference & Leisure Centre with its excellent swimming pool and first class facilities is just over the road and beside that you will find the 800 year old Torre Abbey in the midst of it's beautiful gardens. The main beach, Abbey Sands, is a short 10 minute stroll from our door and in another few minutes walking along Torquay's seaside promenade, passing the Princess Theatre and Torquay's wheel, you will reach the harbour with all it’s shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, and clubs. As well as all this, imagine, after a blissful nights sleep on what many of our guests describe as the most comfortable beds they have ever slept on, you come down to a freshly cooked English Breakfast made using local free range eggs, sausages, hand made by our local butcher with delicious bacon and chestnut mushrooms. We offer daily specials and other menu items to satisfy all tastes alongside yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit salad and berries and lots of extras. You can select fruit juice and iced water from the breakfast bar whilst we get you a freshly made cafetiere, herbal or loose leaf tea. Soya, Oat milk and gluten free bread are available on request. By arrangement we are happy to offer an early breakfast in the dining room or take away option. However, it’s not just our fantastic breakfasts and location that keep our customers returning. Our rooms, which are constantly being refurbished and upgraded, are large and well equipped. Each room has a new 32″ flat screen smart TV with netflix etc, hairdryer, iron & board, free high speed wifi, complimentary tea/coffee, biscuits, fresh milk and iced water. All our rooms have en-suite shower rooms. All our beds are of an extremely high standard with a deep luxurious mattress covered with a thick quilted topper for that extra bit of comfort. Our bar/lounge is open every evening for your pleasure. Being so close to everything means that many of our guests park the car for the duration of their stay and either walk into the harbour through Torre Abbey Gardens and along the seafront or use the bus that passes our front door. We are the ideal location for both holiday and business guests. One of the best locations in Torquay, large rooms, great decor, very comfortable beds and a brilliant breakfast, it doesn’t get much better than the Glendower.
