Baslow Road

Welcome to The Cross Scythes pub in Totley, Sheffield. Our picturesque pub is housed in a building which, according to Sheffield History, in part dates from the 17th century. The Cross Scythes was opened as a pub around 1818 by Samuel Hopkinson, a local farmer and scythe maker, to serve traffic on the new Baslow to Greenhill turnpike. Nowadays, the pub is a bustling, stylish watering hotel and eatery in the heart of Totley, with close proximity to the beautiful Peak District National Park. We pride ourselves on attentive, caring service and freshly prepared, locally-sourced food that changes with the seasons. The pub is owned by front-of-house manager Ben Stazi and chef patron Scott Philliskirk, who became friends when they worked at the Cross Scythes in 2009 under previous owners. They have returned to the pub to combine their expertise and share their passion.
