Chester Racecourse

Chester is the oldest racecourse still in operation in the world - as recognised by the Guinness Book of Records. The first recorded race was held on February 9th 1539. The racecourse hosts 15 flat race meetings a year between May to September as well as numerous other events throughout the year. The company is responsible for three racecourses (Chester, Bangor-on-Dee and Musselburgh) and all catering and conference facilities at Bangor on Dee and Chester, along with an on course hotel at Chester Racecourse - the Holiday Inn Express, restaurants 1539 and The White Horse on site and Commonhall Social in the city of Chester.
