Boiler Shop emerged from the dust of a major refurbishment at the end of 2016. The building has been described by Melvyn Bragg as "the very crucible of the Industrial revolution", so it was fitting that the first band to be promoted in house were those titans of German industrial music, Einstürzende Neubauten. Live music sits alongside Club nights like Concept 10 and foodie fans are literally catered for at the monthly Great Northern Soul Food events.
