Atrium Gallery

The Old Town Hall Gallery, a fine Wren-like building of about 1700, was built as a chapel, the earliest purpose-built Nonconformist chapel in Cornwall, listed grade 11* for its architectural and historic interest. In 1725 it was given to Falmouth for use as its first town hall and court. Now a most intriguing art gallery/museum containing an eclectic collection of art and antiques from ancient to modern periods from around the world. Recent acquisitions include an early portrait by Cornwall’s most distinguished artist John Opie and two large fine 17th century carved wood figures. We are improving the collection, so many surplus items are for sale. As the home of Whirligig Studio, we publish our own wide selection of reasonably priced cards, prints and booklets, the proceeds of which go towards the restoration of the building. Admission is free and visitors are welcome throughout the year to see this fascinating gallery. Opening is usually from 11am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
