Chez Providence Chambres et Table d'hôtes + Studio, near Carcassonne, is a B & B ( with dinner by reservation), it has 5 charming bedrooms with private bathrooms and a holiday studio / gite (a sun terrace and view of the woods) . Located in a typical medieval village of the Black Mountain in Cathar Country surrounded by unspoiled nature. The house was part of the ramparts dating from the 12th century and retains many original features; beams, exposed stones and parquet floors. Breakfast and dinner can be taken in the guest lounge / dining room or on the sun terrace overlooking the valley green and the river. We have secure parking for bicycles and 2/3 motorbikes. A good place from which to visit the historic Cathar countryside and Castles: Carcassonne, Lastours, Saissac and Hautpoul with its "sky-walk" and its pretty preserved Medieval village. Natural heritage with caves and many hiking trails in forests and around lakes, were you can swim or try an acrobranch, Europe's highest waterfall, quaint medieval villages, the national Parc du Haut Languedocl, a paper mill, the book & art village at Montolieu. Wine tasting in some of the many vineyards, visit the source of the Canal du Midi at Saint-Ferréol with is museum, lake and park . The towns of Carcassonne and Toulouse have museums and art galleries. In summer many villages hold fetes and markets (all year long) and car boot sales. From December to March there are weekend Truffle / produce markets and at Christmas Carcassonne holds La Magie de Noel, with Christmas stalls, ice skating and Father Christmas!
