Musée Départemental De La Résistance Haut-Savoyarde
The departmental museum of the Resistance is to be discovered on the site of Morette, high place of memory of the Resistance. Designed by former resistance fighters in 1964, this museum traces the history of the Maquis des Glières and the liberation of Haute-Savoie. The Morette site is dedicated to the memory of the Resistance, around the national necropolis of Glières, created in April 1944 to bury 105 resistance fighters who died in combat. The Museum was notably created by the Survivors of Glières in a former alpine chalet in 1964. It is dedicated to the history of Haute-Savoie during the Second World War. Upstairs are exposed documents more specific to the Glières maquis and the liberation of the department. In the reception hall, you will be able to consult the webdocumentary histories-engagements.hautesavoie.fr, recounting the life journeys of the men and women who have marked the history of the Resistance in Haute-Savoie (videos, maps, interactive chronologies etc ...).
