Lahteen Sauna is the oldest still functioning sauna in Helsinki opened around 1880 for the use of the former psychiatric hospital staff and patients and a hidden gem of the city only known by locals. Nowadays this historical piece is open to the public with a capacity of 10 people at a time. The seafront and the stunning setting of the hospital park offer a unique sauna experience in the heart of the city. The sauna is less than 100 metres from the beach. The sauna can accommodate up to 10 people at a time. The public shifts cost €10 (discount for groups €5). Private sauna shifts can take place between 1 PM and 11 PM. The price for private bookings is 115 € for two hours. See the Lähde sauna Facebook page for more detailed information on opening hours for public sauna. When arriving to Lapinlahti, you can pay for the Sauna in cash to the sauna manager at Lähte Sauna inside our Cafe. (Located inside the Lapinlahti building) This traditional sauna has been kept by the volunteers of our comunity: Lapinlahden Lähde Center for Arts, Culture and Mental Wellbeing, Remember that you will be sharing the Sauna with locals, so be kind and respectful :). All the earnings from Lahteen Sauna contribute to keep our Center running as well as our cafe. Thank you for supporting us! Enjoy! :)
