A historic merchant’s house in Faaborg, built in 1720. This beautiful Grade 1 listed house provides an insight into how a wealthy Faaborg family lived in the 1700 and 1800s. Den gamle Gaard has been Faaborg's local town museum from 1932 to 2021. Since 2022, the local historical association, Faaborg Kulturhistoriske Museumsforening, has been responsible for the upkeep and activities at Den gamle Gaard. The association is run solely by volunteers. The association's aim is to present Faaborg and the area's cultural history for locals and tourists through dynamic events and exhibitions, often in collaboration with local businesses.
