Stadt Museum

In one of the city’s oldest intact buildings, our print museum gives testimony to the cultural technologies, so important to Weimar, of writing, reading and printing. The museum imparts cultural education in many ways by way of our collection of metal and wood type, historic printing forms, a number of functioning presses, and a well stocked and unique specialist library. The printing crafts are here preserved, used and demonstrated. Regular exhibitions, guided tours, workshops and conferences round out our programme and make the Pavillon-Presse a popular cultural meeting point.
