Stadt Wehlen, Saxony 01829
During the time of the former socialist GDR regime, the first floor of the Schutzenhaus was a holiday camp hostel belonging to a state owned firm. The layout of tue rooms is in principle still the same. This gave us the idea to maintain the holiday camp style, and to cater for travelling groups of up to 12 people wanting to stay overnight. We have dormitory rooms with bunkbeds for up to 6 people at one time, and communal showers for both sexes. But we also welcome smaller groups or those travelling alone looking for a last minute place to stay overnight. We also have single and double bed rooms. As a romantic highlight it is even possible to sleep overnight in the artists studio, but this ought to be booked well in advance. The standard of accomodation is admittedly below the usual expected in the Town of Wehlen, as most of the town was thoroughly renovated and modernised following the Elbe flood catastrophe in 2002, whilst the Schutzenhaus stood high, dry and untouched on Hausberg hill. But this means we can offer accomodation from 7€ per night upwards and for larger groups. In our "Garden of Dreams" up to three large tents can be pitched. To be on the safe side just ring up beforehand.
