NAKUK Landhotel & Restaurant
Summery natural opulence, full of blossoms, colors and birdsong; plus the rough marsh landscape with a view of the dyke and directly behind it the wild North Sea. In winter there is always a stiff breeze, icy clear air and hoarfrost on the wind-bent ash and birch trees. In this setting, a few kilometers from the North Sea spa town of Horumersiel, lies the Frisian country hotel NAKUK on a 1.6 hectare natural site. The more than 100 year old lovingly renovated and modernized Gulfhof, in a traditional brick building, is a place where hectic, stress and constant availability are foreign words. Hotel manager and owner Christian A. Fuchs, who runs the 16-room hotel together with his wife Constanze as a classic family business, has turned the seclusion and conscious renunciation of WLAN and fast Internet into a unique selling point. The offer from the native Swabian is aimed at people who give more than 100 percent every day. And just want to switch off on vacation. "From time to time one has to stop the rush so that the soul can catch up," says an African proverb. This also hits the core of what holidaymakers will find at NAKUK in Friesland in northern Germany. The names contain the first letters of the words nature, culture and (typically regional) cuisine. In this combination, a relaxed ambience for body and mind is uniquely combined. The guests of the 16 double rooms and suites, which were furnished with great attention to detail and natural materials, can enjoy walks and bike tours in nature as well as base fasting after Wacker, sauna and wellness. In winter and on cool days, a warm open fire crackles in the large threshing floor. Reading places with a view of the countryside await on the gallery above. Whatever comes to the table in the restaurant - whether fruit, vegetables, fish or meat - comes from our own cultivation or from the regional producer next door. Pure quality without additives and chemicals instead of quantity is also the motto here. And the NAKUK offers another special feature: specializing in rest and pure relaxation, adults and accompanying children and grandchildren are only welcome at NAKUK from the age of 12. The fact that the father of two loves children's laughter more than anything else in the world is not a contradiction for him. He knows: For couples in particular, the special luxury of switching off and recharging your batteries also includes being together without the lively offspring.
