The Deutsches Historisches Museum (German Historical Museum) presents its exhibitions in the Pei building designed by the Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei. The unique Baroque Zeughaus (armoury) on the avenue Unter den Linden is closed for necessary renovations and for the renewal of the Permanent Exhibition. The Museum is Germany’s national historical museum. Located in Berlin’s historic district of Mitte, it sees itself as a place of active communication and discussion of history.
