The Münchner Stadtmuseum's exhibitions closed on January 8, 2024, for a complete renovation. The cinema and the Stadtcafé will remain open to visitors until June 2027. The various collections at the Münchner Stadtmuseum present a thrilling tapestry of the history of the city of Munich and its culture. The extraordinarily rich collections not only feature the graphic arts and painting, furniture, fashion, arts and crafts, but also include a Photography, a Music, and a Puppet Theater/Fairground Attractions Collection. The Film Museum, for its part, accommodates the largest collection of German silent movies, with daily screenings except on Mondays.
