We’re Hotel Pomander, named after the metal globes men and women packed with aromatic herbs and wore on a chain around their neck or waist. Aromatherapy for the Middle Ages, if you like. When Nuremberger Peter Henlein was inspired to build clock movements into a pomander, you could say he taught the world that time is precious. Today we continue what he started by reminding guests to do one thing: find time. Pomander’s calm, classic and completely refurbished rooms feature understated neutrals and comforting textiles with a contemporary edge. There’s modern drop lighting, minimalist decor and metallic accents, plus a dreamt king-size bed dressed in elegant premium linens. On business? The classical Pomander ballroom can host up to 800 people, plus the adjacent meeting rooms and event spaces can cater for an additional 800. Big ideas take time, so don’t rush them - instead, feel free to mingle and daydream in a cool and contemporary break-out space. And big ideas also need brainfood, so tuck in to fresh and healthy food provided by our creative and passionate team - plus one or two trusted partners. Speaking of food, we need to talk about Public, our Kitchen and Bar. Made for casual dining and serious chitchat, find whatever you’re in the mood for on its unpretentious menu. Got a special event or celebration in mind? Make the moment special with private dining options and spaces for hire. There’s also The Blend, a vibey coffee shop and bar. Work, chill or switch between the two, fuelled by strong coffee and small plates. Drop in and get your To Do list under control or, when evening rolls around, enjoy a glass of wine with friends. From time to time, we host public and private events - got something in mind? Get in touch to enquire about booking. For a dose of tranquility, head downstairs and spend some time in the Wellness area. Unwind in the sauna - there are two to choose from - or relax in the pool’s warm waters. On the top floor, you’ll also find a split-level 75m2 gym, with state-of-the-art equipment and weights overlooked by a mezzanine stretching and yoga area with stunning 180 degree views of the castle and city. Find Pomander at the gate of the Altstadt (the Old Town), in the cultural heart of Nuremberg. We’re a short walk from the train station and, from there, just 16 minutes from the airport. Business or leisure, culture vulture or historian, there’s plenty to do and see: the New Museum, the Congress and Tourism Centre, the Town Walls, the Germanic National Museum and National Theatre and Opera are all within 15 minutes’ walk. We’re also just 20 minutes’ drive from the Exhibition Centre. On a schedule? You won’t find a better location. There’s also an expansive and secure underground carpark, free electric vehicle charging stations and reliable wifi everywhere. Anything else, just ask.
