Residenzschloss Rastatt

Rastatt Residential Palace is the oldest Baroque residence in the Upper Rhine Valley. The palace, gardens and town were planned as a whole, to create an Impression of elegant and perfectly proportioned uniformity, with the palace commanding pride of place at the center. Fllowing extensive renovations and restorations, the Palace Church of the Holy Cross reopened ist doors for visitors. The church, built between 1720 and 1723, is one of a series of holy sites commissioned by Margravine Sibylla Augusta within her royal seat, Rastatt.
