Kunstmuseum Stuttgart

Welcome to the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Located in the heart of the city, between the Kleinen and the Grossen Schlossplatz, directly on the bustling Königstrasse, the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart has long since become one of Stuttgart’s landmarks. No only its location but also its architecture contribute to the museum’s success. The glass cube houses three floors of exhibition space reserved for special exhibitions. Yet this part of the museum, visible from the exterior, comprises only one-fifth of the institution’s in total 5,000 square meters of exhibition space. Most of the museum is situated underground in a former traffic tunnel system. Presented on the ground and lower levels are highlights of the municipal art collection. Smaller thematic or monographic special exhibitions within the collection expand upon key aspects or set counterpoints. The »Frischzelle« series features young contemporary art.
