Designed as a home away from home, the cabins and all of the rooms at the 25hours Hotel Hafencity are warm and cosy. Features and materials inspired by the harbour and shipbuilding are interpreted with tongue-in cheek humour and held together with sailors yarns 25 seafarers from around the world tell real life stories of dangerous voyages, romantic encounters, violent storms, painful farewells. Anecdotal accessories and objects refer to these adventures, which are told in full in each cabins logbook.

The 25hours Hotel Altes Hafenamt is a piece of living history. In the listed brick building of the former office of the Hamburg Port Authority, the Augsburg design team DREIMETA created a cosy captain’s home. Once the Office for Electricity and Harbour Construction and filled with the lasting memories of sailors from all over the world, it is now a cosy captain's home. The venerable figure of the old harbour master acts as godfather, providing inspiration to guests as they move through the house. Through the use of exciting materials and novel objects the hotel has incorporated the many historical details in a creative way.
