The interim use of the indoor pool Biregg In the spring of 2012 our network of local and regional partners submitted the concept > to the city of Lucerne, Switzerland. The municipal jury awarded the proposal and granted the initiators an interim use of at least 4 years. In September 2013 the Neubad opened its doors to the public. Vision of the Neubad The Neubad stands for a > in the city of Lucerne: openness toward different partnerships, usage, experimentation and new ideas. The Neubad supplies the framework necessary for such a creative environment. It provides a space for initiating, accompanying and facilitating innovative solutions in the cultural and creative industry as well as for the urban development. Studios and Co-Working The floors of the former changing rooms, the small pool and the basement, can be used by cultural and creative professionals as well as start-up companies. The space may be used for a variety of purposes such as a workspace for artists, a bike repair shop, storage space, or an open-plan office. Beside the classical co-working environment (desks and laptops) it is possible to individually rent and design your own niche. The generous space allows working side by side or with one another and offers an inspiring and creative environment where ideas, projects and products may thrive. Events The main pool is used as a platform for existing or new events of all genres, reaching out to a regional audience or beyond. Events may include exhibitions, presentations, conferences, podiums, lectures, festivals, markets, performances, concerts, theater, dance, cabaret. Or private events such as gatherings, seminars, fotoshootings, rehearsals or business dinners. The main pool represents a space of a constant cultural, scientific and social discourse. This is also where a dialog about the neighborhood and urban development takes place. Catering, Bistro and Bar With its original catering concept and assorted menus, the Bistro at the Neubad becomes an attractive meeting place for everyone - lessee, local residents as well as visitors from near and far. The Bistro is where ideas are exchanged, plans are made or simply good food and beverages are enjoyed and convivial moments are lived. Goals for the Project Neubad developing, presenting and discussing new ideas - lab, incubator and platform positioning Central Switzerland and Lucerne as a location of culture, innovation and design creating a habitat for a sustainable urban development by actively including the surrounding potential using synergies with existent facilities in art, culture, exhibitions, festivals and start-up companies
