La Seigneurie Des Aulnaies

On the border of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Chaudière-Appalaches, the Seigneurie des Aulnaies offers a set of heritage assets and breathtaking scenery. It is a renowned museum institution and classified site. The guides, dressed in period characters, allow visitors to relive the way of life of the lords and censitaires in New France. (New) Erected in 1739 and rebuilt in 1842, the flour mill embodies the obligation for the lord to build a mill in the service of its censitaires. Our miller transforms grain into flour all year long, with the same mechanism as in the nineteenth century. Built in 1853, the Victorian-style manor, where the sumptuous interior is offered to the curious visitor, is framed by vast galleries adorned with lace and is surrounded by gardens. The museum shop at the Pavillon d'accueil offers you its flour and allows you to discover the artisans’ know-how and local products.
