The 178 km Vive le Nord cycling route, a self-guided bike tour on part of the Voyageur Cycling Route, celebrates Northeastern Ontario’s Francophone history and culture, with a luxurious and smooth road ride alongside the West arm of Lake Nipissing. You’ll be riding along quiet and rolling country roads with a healthy dose of false flats, surrounded by corn fields, cows, horses, sunflowers and milkweed galore! You’ll pass through rugged Northern forests with the water never far from view as you follow along the Sturgeon River. With very low vehicle traffic and tons of bicycle-friendly locals, this is a route to find solitude and recharge.

The Veloroute Voyageur Cycling Route is a 645 km cycling route from Ottawa to Sudbury that features terrain for all modes of cycling including road, mountain biking and gravel biking. The route follows the paths of the early fur-traders from Ottawa to Sudbury, along the Ottawa and Mattawa Rivers and surrounding areas.
