Visit the Ridge House Museum to find out what life was like in 1875! Inside the house, period furnishings and accessories are displayed to reveal to visitors the values and lifestyles of a middle-class family in the growing Ontario town of Ridgetown. In addition to the restored portion of the home, visitors of all ages can enjoy our interactive play area, the Discovery Den, with activities designed to help make connections to 1875 life and the history of this rural community. Built in 1875, the Ridge House Museum is housed in a typical Gothic revival home with a symmetrical floor plan and represents a middle-class family home. A partnership between the Ridgetown Rotary Club and the Ridgetown & District Historical Society established the museum in 1975 as to ensure that Ridgetown's history would be preserved for future generations. The museum offers guided tours, interpretive programs, and special events. Admission is by donation.
