Ontario Harness Horse Association
The Ontario Harness Horse Association (OHHA) was established in 1961 by a dedicated group of owners, trainers, and drivers of Standardbred horses to represent the interests of harness horsemen and horsewomen across Ontario. The association engages in negotiations regarding purses, racing conditions, and various industry matters with tracks, Standardbred Canada, the Ontario Racing Commission, and government entities at both provincial and federal levels.
In addition to advocacy, OHHA offers the Ontario Equine Education Employment Program (OEEEP), a free six-week virtual training initiative designed to kickstart careers in the multibillion-dollar equine industry. This program, in partnership with VPI Working Solutions and Equine Guelph, provides hands-on placement opportunities for participants upon completion of their studies.
