Migisi Alcohol & Drug Treatment Centre, established in July 1989, offers a holistic approach to guide and support anishinaabe individuals on their healing journey. Located on the serene lakefront of Matheson Bay on Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation near Kenora, Ontario, this 14-bed facility is dedicated to cleansing the body, mind, soul, and spirit with the Creator's guidance.
The Migisi team, led by Executive Director Julie Lessard, creates a warm and welcoming community atmosphere for individuals seeking wellness. From finance management to cultural support, the dedicated staff, including Healing and Wellness Supervisor Lee Morris, is committed to assisting guests in their healing process.
Funded by Health & Welfare Canada/National Native Alcohol & Drug Abuse Program, Migisi offers tours, speakers, and presentations for various groups and organizations.
