Knox Presbyterian Church
Knox Presbyterian Church in Owen Sound, Ontario has a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century. Originally located on Boyd Street, the congregation moved to a new building on Murdock Street in 1873 during the ministry of Rev. Duncan Morrison.
Throughout the years, the church underwent expansions and renovations to accommodate its growing congregation, including the addition of a Sunday School area in 1908 designed in the Akron Plan architectural style, reflecting the commitment to education and community involvement.
One notable feature of Knox Presbyterian Church is the Casavant Memorial Organ dedicated in 1919 to honor the 22 men of the congregation who made the Supreme Sacrifice in World War 1. This organ replaced the original one built in 1889, showcasing the church's dedication to preserving its heritage and honoring those who served.
