Christ the King Church
Christ the King Church, located in Long Branch, Toronto, was established in 1938 under the leadership of Father Stephen Auad. Initially envisioned as a shrine to St. Anthony, the church was dedicated to Christ the King after overcoming financial challenges to secure its establishment.
Constructed on the site of an old cider plant, the church welcomed its first congregation in September 1939, with Archbishop McGuigan dedicating the completed building in May 1940. Despite the brief tenure of Father Auad, who passed away shortly after the church's completion, the parish continues to thrive, offering various liturgical services and devotions.
