94 Monk Street
Chapleau, Ontario P0M 1K0
The Chapleau Heritage Museum began in 1967 as a place to celebrate local history in Northern Ontario. It has fascinating antiques inside but the biggest attraction is the 275 ton Iron Horse steam engine outside. The museum grounds also feature a sawmill, a CP Rail caboose, the footprints of Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson, and a memorial to Louis Hémon.
