Abitibi Commons is a project partnership between Riversedge Developments and the Town of Iroquois Falls, Ontario. It aims to redevelop the former Resolute Forest Products Paper Mill properties situated on the banks of the Abitibi River. Originally built in 1912 by Frank Anson as the Abitibi Power and Paper Company, these properties are set to transform into the Abitibi Commons through Riversedge Inc., a project-specific company supported by Colliers Project Leaders.

Resolute Forest Products demonstrates a strong commitment to regional recovery by signing a historic agreement to transfer the Iroquois Falls mill properties to the joint venture, Abitibi Banks. With a century of production behind it, the once-largest paper mill in the world at Iroquois Falls closes its doors. The town, historically reliant on paper production, now shifts its focus towards reinvention and building a resilient economy for the next 100 years.
