Ville De Tracadie-Sheila Corp
The Town of Tracadie-Sheila, officially established on January 1, 1992, is the result of the amalgamation of the former Town of Tracadie and the Village of Sheila. With a population of approximately 4,200 at its inception, the town aimed to streamline administrative services and enhance regional development through shared resources and services.
In July 2014, Tracadie-Sheila evolved into the first regional municipality in New Brunswick, consolidating with 18 neighboring local service districts to form the Municipalité régionale de Tracadie, which now serves around 16,000 residents. This strategic amalgamation reflects the community's commitment to fostering growth and improving service delivery across the region.
