Jewish Heritage-Western Canada

The Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and culture of Jewish communities in Western Canada. It encompasses the Jewish Historical Society of Western Canada, the Marion Ed Vickar Jewish Museum of Western Canada, the Genealogical Institute, and the Freeman Family Foundation Holocaust Education Centre.

With a mission to document and educate about the Holocaust and other human rights violations, the Centre houses over 70,000 photographs, 4,000 artifacts, and numerous oral histories. It also actively promotes awareness and understanding of antisemitism and racism through various programs and exhibits, while acknowledging its location on ancestral lands and the importance of confronting historical injustices against Indigenous peoples.
