The First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority, commonly known as the Northern Authority, was established in 2003 to oversee and coordinate child and family services across Manitoba. With a commitment to the well-being of children, families, and communities, the Northern Authority prioritizes respecting and incorporating Indigenous traditions and cultures in its approach.

The Northern Authority collaborates with six agencies to deliver a wide range of services, including foster care recruitment, oversight of agency services, and support for children affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Dedicated to strengthening family unity and cultural heritage, the Northern Authority continues to implement strategic plans to enhance the welfare of First Nations families throughout the region.
