The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) has been supporting Aboriginal people in transitioning into urban life in Vancouver since 1963. The organization is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of urban Indigenous communities through a range of programs and resources in health, wellness, social services, culture, education, and recreation.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Susan Tatoosh Tii Thul'p, VAFCS acknowledges its operation on the traditional and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Peoples, while striving to support all Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island. Through collaboration and community engagement, VAFCS plays a vital role in fostering cultural connection and social well-being within the urban Indigenous population.
